NBA Playoffs!

Took a little break after college season wrapped up and now am ready to get some NBA picks going.

First I will take a look at a few series.

Generally, the higher seeds take care of business however there are a couple of dogs to take a look at.

Memphis +315 vs San Antonio- This pick is predicated that Ginobli is probably going to be limited and Memphis had a real strong 2nd half. The matchups for the spurs are not great in this one either as the Grizzlies have a nice edge in frontcourt quickness. If the Grizzlies can steal game one or two then I think they will have a chance to close out the series in game 6.

Atlanta +475 vs Orlando- I don't have a lot of faith in the Hawks but I have not seen a lot from the Magic that impresses me also. It seems that Dwight Howard might be checking a la Lebron last year. if that is the case, then look out. I think both the teams will split the first 4 games and after that we will see if the Hawks can step it up.

Oklahoma -220 vs Denver- This looks to be a real cheap price for a really good favorite. Of all the teams in the west, the Thunder have the only legitimate shot at knocking off the Lakers. Kevin Durant is a superstar but if you ask the average fan they probably have not seen him play too often. I really look for him to get in the public's eye during this playoff. Much the way Kevin Garnett was able to when he had a break out playoff series way back playing for the T-Wolves against the Lakers.

I do think it is a pretty wide open in the East. I think Philadelphia can give Miami a scare.

Be back as the games progress with some individual game picks.
