Games to Circle #3

Not a big secret but like many players I like to fade a team in their first game under a coach making a debut. Couple that with playing a team on the rise and you have a good recipe.

This is the case with Memphis at Miss St. the Bulldogs had a respectable season last year and look to build on that. Looking for respect in the SEC means winning non conference games to gear up for the league challenge.

I am looking for the Bulldogs to come in prime condition and get that first big win under their belt while Memphis struggles to find its way under a new coach.

3 Away then Play

This has been a pretty successful betting angle for me over the years.

After a team has played 3 straight away games, take them ATS at their next home game.

Like every angle, there are some caveats. For instance, the team must have a pretty formidable home crowd. If a team comes home to a half empty stadium then it is not quite as powerful.

Also it helps if the team does well on those 3 games. If they get killed or have a bad run then use caution as well.

I have noted one favorable 3 away then play so far.

Miami ATS over Florida St- October 9.

One game I am still looking at is Toledo. They have a 3 away and play scenario but I have that game under review currently.

Games to Circle #2

Some early thoughts...continued

Sept 4

Nebraska ATS over Western Kentucky- an everpresent challenge in handicapping college football is figuring out which heavy 30+ point favorites will cover against a weaker opponent. This is a spot where I really like the huskers. They are poised to make a serious run while the hilltoppers are not equipped to compete with a team like this. The hilltoppers are installing a new offense while Nebraska will have a dominant defense.

Sept 11

Arkansas ATS over Louisiana-Monroe Two reasons to like this matchup. Arkansas will already have had a game under their belt while it will be the first game out for ULM. Also ULM is very depleted on defense and facing a high powered arkansas offense. Look for the Hogs to cover the big number.
